I have a 1955 panhead I'm suspecting the trans pan but don't see any oil dripping off of it. I keep having trouble with the bolts loosening and striping out

Does anybody know of any good repairs without having to drill and tap the hole Does anyone have an idea where it's coming from Need a little, well a lot of help with this vin # (fla30864)

The bike was titled in 1976 as a 1964, it has a panhead motor that appears to be era correct

Found out today that most everything else is a early 70's shovel Vin number does not match any format that i. Try'n to remove the bolts from my 06 1200 sporty and while the 1st came out rather stubbornly the 2nd is stripped in the torx head of the bolt So, i checked the remain'n two at the top, torx driver fits in them ok but they are so tight i'm a feered they'll strip.

You need a manual, as you need torque specs for the entire assembly of the primary cover, inner primary bolts, clutch hub nut, compensator, starter bolts, starter jackshaft bolt, swingarm pivot bolts and rear axle nut What i know off the top of my head Was the bolt next to the drain plug ?? If it was a pipe plug you're okay , just replace it and use teflon tape on the threads

If you removed the pipe plug in the bottom of the engine case below and behind the cam cover put teflon tape on it then screw it back in flush to the case , no deeper than flush.

I found this one when i screwed up and took out the wrong bolt to do the engine oil change Found this thread pertaining to the small 1/4 socket bolt with tapered threads on front right rear of crankcase. Please note this change is unique to 2009 models only and does not affect earlier model year vehicles. Bike has sat for around 5 years due to moving to another state

Was in mint condition before it was put in storage Started the bike up and oil was leaking everywhere out of the breather vaulve Took it to a local shop they couldn't fix it So the sportster was my dad's since 2010 ish

For about 2 years he rode it with bad rocker gaskets which cause an oil leak

He always checked the oil before he road it and made sure it wasn't low It would leave a puddle of oil under neath it. Noticed a oil spot on the floor between the engine and transmission interface I got a mirror and looked up and saw a drop of oil forming on the lower left bolt head (kickstand side) that connects the trans to the engine
